Time at John German? I started at John German around 1998.
Best part of your job? Knowing our clients trust us and are confident in the knowledge we will sell their home for them. To make it as stress free as possible, we have a brilliant support team in the sales progression department. Lichfield is a small town and we regularly bump into happy customers which makes the job very rewarding.
Top tip for buyer or seller? Before going on the market, walk through your home and imagine how a buyer would see things for the very first time. Can you see anything which needs updating or fixing? Are there any rooms which look too cluttered or busy? If so, it’s worth taking a bit of time to get things looking fresh, spacious and homely.
Property Valuer
What is your experience? I’ve worn many hats in estate agency over the last 10 or so years! I began my career in sales, with a large corporate agency, worked for a start-up lettings company, dabbled in property sourcing, and then worked for seven years for a large online agent before joining John German.
The best part of your job? Being able to meet such a great variety of homeowners or buyers, all with different needs and varying types of properties means no two days are the same.
Top tip for buyer or seller? Take your time; do it once, do it right.
Dream Home: Millennium Falcon – essentially the perfect campervan!
Sales Negotiator
What is your experience? I have recently come back to the property industry after being away for about four years. I previously worked in the Nottingham area with another agent and enjoyed the fast-paced environment.
The best part of your job? My favourite part of the job has always been building relationships with the clients, helping to guide them through the ‘sometimes stressful’ process of moving. I have the privilege of selling some stunning properties and helping some lovely people. I am aware that, to the client, their home is not just their most expensive asset but also a home where they have created family memories for life.
What would be your dream home? My dream home would be a traditional-style house with the front door in the middle, and bay window to either side and a lovely garden.

What is your experience? I started as a Sales Negotiator a year ago and have covered all areas of Loughborough and the surrounding villages so I have great knowledge of the local area.
The best part of your job? The best part of my job is helping people find their dream homes and guiding them through one of the most significant decisions of their lives.
Top tip for buyer or seller?
For buyers – Secure financial pre-approval before house hunting to strengthen your offers credibility and speed up the buying process.
For Sellers – Stage your home effectively, highlight its best features to make a positive first impression on potential buyers
Dream Home: My dream home would be a quirky cottage with loads of character.

What is your experience? I have worked in the industry for 21 years in Loughborough and have also lived locally all of my life so I know the area very well!
The best part of job? Helping people achieve their dream move. I like to exceed people’s expectations and make the process as easy as possible for them. I love it when they collect the keys on completion day!
Top tip for a buyer or seller? My top tip would be to look at your home from a buyer’s perspective and think about what you look for when you go to view a property. Remember the first impression when the viewer arrives for the viewing is very important!
What is your dream home? A character cottage with a log burner overlooking a beach. Preferably in Cornwall!

The best part of your job? Building long standing relationships with both landlords and tenants.
Top tip for a landlord? Start the tenancy as you mean to go on. Deep clean the property in between tenants.
What would be your dream home? Somewhere rural, with high ceilings and a real fire!

Favourite part of your job? Building a solid working relationship with landlords and tenants, understanding expectations for a smooth-running tenancy.
What would be your dream home? My dream home would be a period property set in a nice secluded rural location, with lots of land and stunning views.
Independent Mortgage Advisor
What is your experience?
I started my working life as an Underwriter for Abbey National before becoming a Mortgage Advisor in Birmingham. I then became a Area Mortgage Manager in retail banking. I have been working with APR for 18 months.
The best part of your job?
Diversity; Every client is so different, each recommendation and needs are bespoke. Love being independent, for Mortgages and Protection – the client gets the best of both worlds.
Top tip for a buyer or seller?
Follow your head and not your heart!
What would be your dream home?
A three story town house in Notting Hill with a high walled garden

What is your experience? Nearly 30 years as a police officer and I have worked in Estate Agency for 3 years in a similar role.
The best part of job? Meeting new people and assisting them in making an important life decision whilst seeing a variety of interesting properties in the process
Top tip for a buyer or seller? For our sellers…Present your house as well as you can. Neutral colours and decluttering help. For our buyers…look at the space available not what’s in it.
What is your dream home? A modern cottage by the sea.
